AAAHC accredits 2 GI/endoscopy centers: 10 quick facts

Two AmSurg-affiliated GI/endoscopy centers recently received accreditation.

The two centers are Lancaster (Pa.) Gastroenterology Procedure Center and Space Coast Endoscopy Center in Rockledge, Fla. The centers received Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care accreditation.

Here are five quick facts about Lancaster Gastroenterology Procedure Center:

• There are nine affiliated physicians.
• Procedures include colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and upper endoscopy.
• The center is Medicare-certified.
• The first time AAAHC accredited the center was in 2009.
• Debbie Spader, RN, is a key nurse manager at the center.

Here are five quick facts about Space Coast Endoscopy Center:

• The outpatient center has 100 percent board certified gastroenterologists.
• The center director is Nancy Dean, RN, CGRN.
• Procedures include flexible sigmoidoscopy, upper endoscopy and colonoscopy.
• There are seven affiliated physicians.
• Center staff participated in the Colon Cancer Awareness 5k run.
