The study estimates that weight control-focused wellness programs have reached 90 percent of employees in large organizations. The authors argue that there is no published data indicated these programs result in long-term weight lost or reduction in inpatient admissions related to obesity.
The study authors conclude that these programs should be dismantled or completely redesigned.
