Lutheran Services Carolinas Names Anesthesiologist Dr. John Bumgarner Philanthropist of the Year

Lutheran Services Carolinas has named anesthesiologist John Bumgarner, MD, and his wife, Barbara Bumgarner philanthropists of the year for central North Carolina, according to a Salisbury Post report.

Dr. and Mrs. Bumgarner served as chairs for LSC’s Keeping the Promise campaign, which raised more than $5 million.

According to the report, Dr. Bumgarner is board-certified and completed his anesthesiology residency at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C., formerly known as the Bowman Gray School of Medicine.
