Maine Gastroenterologist Pens Editorial: Let MaineCare Recipients Use ASCs

Ambulatory surgery centers are typically less expensive than hospitals and premiums continue to rise, according to the report. The governor has also refused a MaineCare expansion and uninsured or underinsured patients have taken a financial toll on the state’s providers.

Dr. Howell practices in part at Portland Gastroenterology’s Endoscopy Center as well as Maine Medical Center.
