Ambulatory surgery centers would see a 0.9 percent increase in reimbursement if the proposed rules are finalized. According to the report, CMS’s finalized physician fee schedule and ambulatory surgical center payment system may be delayed, leading to uncertainty about these changes.
The government shut down has also ceased Medicare recertification and initial surveys, though the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services has maintained the CMS fraud and abuse hotline.
