Sleep Apnea Could Lead to Glaucoma, Study Says

People with sleep apnea are more likely to develop glaucoma than people without the sleeping disorder, according a study published in Ophthalmology.

Researchers retrospectively looked at 1,012 patients 40 and older in Taiwan. The risk of developing open-angle glaucoma within five years of a sleep apnea diagnosis was 1.67 times higher than the control subjects.
