Patient Safety Tool: Stop CAUTI Implementation Guide

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality offers a free guide to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections through the On the CUSP: Stop CAUTI initiative.

The initiative aims to use the Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program to reduce the average rate of CAUTI in U.S. hospitals by 25 percent. The “On the CUSP: Stop CAUTI Implementation Guide,” which was revised in November 2012, provides steps and tools for hospital unit teams to implement the Stop CAUTI initiative at the unit level.
