The company provides software solutions to ambulatory surgery centers, surgical hospitals and surgical practices. It was randomly selected for an audit of meaningful use functionality with its certified electronic medical records system, which was built on input from ASC leaders. The system is currently used in more than 500 operating rooms daily.
“We were given only two weeks to prepare for this audit, and we passed easily,” said Lauren Moroniti, project manager for AmkaiCharts. “Maintaining our certification throughout the different releases of our solution is important, as it assures our partners that they are using a certified product. This audit reinforces that our responsibility to meet the meaningful use certification criteria does not end with the completion of the test. We are mindful of these criteria when planning changes to the system, and are diligent to appropriately testing each new version to maintain our compliance.”
The company plans to complete ambulatory certification (2014 Stage 2 certification) this summer.
