Overturning of Billing Fraud Suit to Slow Federal Charge Against Healthcare Fraud

Earlier this month, an appeals court overturned an $82.6 million judgment against Renal Care Group could slow the government’s fight against healthcare billing fraud, according to BizJournals.

The overturned 2011 ruling found Renal Care Group improperly billed Medicare from 1999 to 2005. The U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals dismissed charges, and said Renal Care south sufficient guidance about its billing structure.
