The two additional patient safety measures focus on complications and address venous thromboembolism prophylaxis and current medication documentation in medical records. Twenty-two quality measures addressing cancer care focus on conditions such as leukemia, prostate cancer and multiple myeloma but also on issues that affect care delivery.
NQF also endorsed 12 measures that assess coordination of care and 12 quality measures focused on healthcare disparities and culturally competent care for racial and ethnic minority populations.
