The advisory statement was issued after prosecutors seized thousands of items from a China-based company that reportedly manufactured and distributed unlicensed fake plates and screws under the name of a U.S. medical device manufacturer.
About 100 hospitals purchased products from the Stephen Fan Trading Co., according to the report. No product recall has been initiated in connection with the seizure.
