Physicians Endoscopy Launches "Hospital Re-Integration" Service Line

Physicians Endoscopy (PE), a leader in the development and management of endoscopic ambulatory surgery centers, has announced the launching of a new service line focusing on "hospital re-integration."

This service line provides a platform for existing physician-owned ASCs to work with PE to align themselves with the local hospital system. By doing such, ASCs can recognize immediate financial benefits while positioning themselves for healthcare reform and accountable care organization implementation, according to PE.

"Healthcare reform, while a reality, is also extraordinarily undefined," says Barry Tanner, CEO of PE. "At this stage of the process it is all about positioning. It is extraordinarily difficult to take a stand on one particular strategy when the rules of the game have yet to be defined. PE sees its role as one of helping GI physicians to evaluate the possible options and then to strategically position themselves and their ASCs in such a way that will enable them to make the best strategic choices as the various options become more clear."
