ASCA names Rebecca Craig board of directors' president: 5 things to know

Rebecca R. Craig is the newly elected board of directors' president for the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association as well as the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association Foundation.

Here are five things to know:

1. Ms. Craig will serve a two-year term as ASCA and ASCAF's board of directors' president.

2. In her new role, Ms. Craig will be the chief spokesperson and advise ASCA and ASCAF leadership. She will serve as the director on different projects and task forces.

3. Since 2011, Ms. Craig has been a board of directors' members. She is also the past president and active member of Colorado Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.

4. Ms. Craig is CEO of Fort Collins, Colo.-based Harmony Surgery Center, a joint venture between physicians and UCHealth, also in Fort Collins.

5. Sixteen years ago, Ms. Craig played an integral role in opening Harmony Surgery Center. She has dedicated the last six years of her career to developing and opening other multispecialty ASCs throughout Colorado.

"Rebecca has outstanding experience in managing all aspects of an ASC as well as in-depth knowledge of issues that are critical to our national ASCA organization and members," said Brent Ashby, the current CASCA president. "Her leadership abilities and expertise in physician relations, finance, marketing, quality assurance, operations and compliance make her an ideal candidate to serve as president of the ASCA."
