EMU Health acquired Glendale, N.Y.-based Queens Surgical Center.

Here are four things to know:

1. QSC has served local residents for 25 years.

2. EMU Health has developed one other ASC in addition to QSC.

3. In 2015, QSC surgeons performed nearly 6,000 surgeries.

4. EMU plans to invest approximately $5 million in infrastructure, and will expand QSC's service offerings to include diagnostic testing and treatment.

"We are thrilled to be a part of the solution for healthcare in Queens, and our new acquisition of QSC will provide us with a well-established, centrally located facility in which to improve access to healthcare for residents in Queens," said EMU Health CEC Principal and CEO Daniel Lowy. "We look forward to partnering with community based organizations, surgeons and non-surgeons alike."
