The California Quality Collaborative appoints new medical director — 5 facts

The California Quality Collaborative appointed Bart Wald, MD, as medical director.

Here are five facts:

1. Dr. Wald's responsibilities entail engaging external stakeholders in the organizations to identify and spread practices in California's outpatient delivery system and guiding the development of leading programs for California's IPAs, medical groups, clinics and integrated systems.

2. Additionally, Dr. Wald will lead the CQC with Diane Stewart, senior director of CQC.

3. Dr. Wald has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry and is a respected healthcare executive.

4. The organization is hopeful Dr. Wald will enhance patient care in California because of his prior experience in effecting change in healthcare organizations.

5. CQC is a healthcare improvement organization based in San Francisco that works to improve the quality and efficiency of the healthcare delivery system in California.
