Compensation for U.S. Quality Professionals Increases 2%; Unemployment Declines

The average salary for full-time quality professionals in the United States increased nearly 2 percent in 2011 over the average salary in 2010, according to an ASQ news release.

 

The average salary for U.S. quality professionals in 2011 is $87,086, up from the average of $85,383 in 2010, according to the results of Quality Progress magazine's 25th annual salary survey, which saw nearly 6,600 quality professionals in the United States and Canada complete the survey. Today's average salary for full-time quality professionals in the United States is up nearly 12 percent from 2066.

 

In Canada, the average salary of a full-time quality professional slipped less than 1 percent in 2011 to $75,800. The salary still remains more than $4,000 higher than it was five years ago.

 

The average healthcare quality professional is now earning $85,473 in the United States and $82,364 in Canada.

 

Survey results also indicate a decline in the number of quality professionals who are unemployed, retired or laid off. In 2011, 2.7 percent of respondents claimed to be unemployed, retired or laid off, whereas in 2010, 3.1 percent were not working.
