Anesthesiologists Highest-Paid Healthcare Workers in Houston
The average annual pay for a Houston-based anesthesiologist is $221,120, the highest-paying healthcare profession in the city, according to an analysis of 2010 U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data by the Houston Business Journal.
In the nation, the highest-paid healthcare employees are anesthesiologists in San Antonio, who earn an average annual salary of $251,600, according to BLS data. The second highest-paying healthcare profession in Houston is an internist, who earns an average of $199,310, followed by a family and general practitioner, who earns $197,900 a year.
In the healthcare support area, occupational therapy assistants make the most at an average of $69,870 annually.
