4 Patient Deaths Put Temporary Halt To Via Christi’s Kidney Transplants

Wichita, Kan.-based Via Christi Health announced it is temporarily halting its kidney transplant program in light of four patient deaths and one graft failure in patients who have undergone transplants in the past year.

The Via Christi Transplant Institute will continue to offer post-transplant care but is not accepting organs for transplant or adding new patients to the wait list while the kidney transplant program undergoes review.
