The LenSx laser was installed last week at Pacific Hills Surgery Center in Laguna Hills, Calif., where Dr. Tran performed five customized laser cataract surgeries on Aug. 11.
LenSx uses a femtosecond laser, which has been used to perform LASIK surgery since FDA approval in 2001 and offers an alternative to the mechanical cuts used in traditional LASIK.
