An American Medical Group Association survey indicated that in 2011, part-time physicians represented nearly one-quarter of the workforce in large medical groups, an increase from 13 percent in 2005.
Of the one-quarter part-time physicians surveyed, 62 percent were male, which represents a threefold increase from 2005.
