Advanced practice registered nurses earn the most on the East and West Coasts, according to Medscape’s 2019 APRN compensation report.

Medscape field responses from 3,545 APRNs to compile its report, including 2,001 nurse practitioners, 460 certified registered nurse anesthetists, 626 clinical nurse specialists and 458 nurse midwives.

How gross income for APRNs compared between regions:

1. Pacific (includes Alaska and Hawaii): $130,000
2. New England: $121,000
3. West South Central: $119,000
4. Mountain: $118,000
5. South Atlantic: $118,000
6. East North Central: $116,000
7. Mid Atlantic: $115,000
8. East South Central: $115,000
9. West North Central: $112,000
