Milwaukee Orthopedic Specialty Hospital will be a joint venture between Wheaton and the physicians. It will be housed on the second floor of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-Franklin and be a separately licensed entity. The hospital will include 16 in-patient beds, six day surgery beds, six surgical suites, four procedure rooms and nine recovery beds, according to the report.
The cost of the hospital will be split evenly between Wheaton and the physicians, who come from groups throughout the Milwaukee area. The hospital is scheduled to open in Aug. 2009.
