On June 28, ASIPP members met with 135 senators and representatives and staff from 35 different states to express the Society’s belief that this “bi-partisan legislation is a necessary measure to end a payment system that has been spiraling out of control for years,” according to a letter from ASIPP.
During the meetings, ASIPP members distributed a two-page fact sheet outlining the need for reforming the ASC payment system. A copy of the fact sheet can be viewed by clicking here (pdf).
Prior to the office visits, ASIPP group gathered in the Kennedy Caucus room where members heard speeches from congressional leaders including Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Sen. John Boozman (R-AR); Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD), Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE), Rep. Ben Chandler (D-KY), Sen. Dan Coats (R-IN), Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR) Sen. Jeff Sessions (R- AL), Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) and Rep. Ed Whitfield (R-KY).
