The new building will replace a Fort Myers facility and expand diagnostic and treatment capacity for southwest Florida’s Veterans, according to the release.
“Providing twenty-first century care to Veterans requires constant investment,” Secretary Shinseki said in the release. “This new facility will ensure Florida’’ Veterans receive the top-notch care they have earned through their military service.”
The multi-story, 220,000-square-foot building will provide a surgery and outpatient support center to meet increased demand for diagnostic procedures, ambulatory surgery and specialty care, according to the release. The contractor has two years to complete the work.
