UPS Utilizes Cold Chain Container for Transport of Sensitive Healthcare Products

UPS will begin offering an air freight container designed for temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals, vaccines and biologics, according to a company release.

The PharmaPort 360 container features near real-time monitoring and GPS location technologies. It also maintains strict product temperatures in extreme outside conditions by utilizing both heating and cooling storage technology, allowing it to protect medications that need to stay within a required temperature range to prevent spoilage.
