UPS Expands Healthcare Services, Stores Temperature-Sensitive Drugs

UPS will be expanding its healthcare services by adding two more warehouses in Louisville, Ky., that would house temperature-sensitive drugs and vaccines, according to a news report by The Desert Sun.

Although healthcare makes up only 10 percent of the delivery company’s business, company officials say healthcare is the fastest-growing sector. The four Louisville-based warehouses are part of a larger 30-warehouse system that stretches across the world, according to the news report. UPS’ storage capabilities allow vaccines and drugs to be stored at 4 degrees below zero.
