University of Mass. Branch Opens Center to Develop Medical Devices

The University of Massachusetts-Lowell is opening its Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center, after completing a $4 million renovation of former factory space, according to a Mass Device report.

Five startups are leasing space at the center and two more have agreed to do so in the future.

 

Four companies — MoMelan, TheraTorr, MedicaMetrix and Aura Medsystems —  raised more than $5 million for the center from investors.
