Hispanics, who account for 15 percent of the U.S. population, are often more likely than whites to experience poor health outcomes. For example, Hispanics have significantly higher rates of hospital admissions for short-term complications due to diabetes, according to AHRQ’s 2010 National Healthcare Disparities Report.
