Top 5 IHNs with the Most Network Relationships with Surgery Centers

According to SDI’s 2008 Outpatient Surgery Center Market Report, 11 percent of surgery centers belong to an integrated health network (IHN) as of August 2008, an increase of 1 percent over the previous year.

Here are the top five IHNs with the most relationships with surgery centers (which encompass 10.7 percent of all network relationships with surgery centers), along with their corporate location and the number of centers in their networks in 2008, according to the report.

  1. Baptist Memorial Health Care (Memphis, Tenn.) — 18
  2. Baylor Health Care System (Dallas)  — 16
  3. Triad Hospitals (acquired by Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems) — 15
  4. HCA North Florida Division (Tallahassee, Fla.) — 15
  5. NCH Health System (Naples, Fla.) — 13
