Three Organizations Combine to Form Largest U.S. Nurse Union

The United American Nurses, the California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee and the Massachusetts Nurses Association announced they are joining together to form a 150,000-member association, according to a California Nurses Association news release.

The new organization, which will be named the United American Nurses-National Nurses Organizing Committee, will be the largest RN union in the United States.

The union has pledged to advance the interests of direct care nurses, organize new groups of direct care RNs and create a national Taft-Hartley pension for union RNs.
