Four N.Y. Hospitals, BCBS Collaborate to Reduce C. Difficile Rates

Four New York hospitals and Excellus BlueCross BlueShield are teaming together for a collaboration designed to reduce rates of C. difficile, according to a Democrat and Chronicle report.

Highland, Strong Memorial, Rochester General and Unity hospitals, all located in Rochester, N.Y., are participating in the collaboration. With a goal of reducing C. difficile rates by 30 percent over three years, healthcare professionals from all the organizations will share ideas and best practices for C. difficile prevention.

The collaboration will also feature a research arm that will study proper antibiotics administration.
