The Office of the Inspector General Issues Additional Compliance Program Guidance

The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General ("OIG") recently issued final guidance on a host of issues relevant to voluntary compliance programs for small practices. Released September 25, 2000, the OIG Compliance Program Guidance for Individual and Small Group Physican Practices1 is extremely helpful in its practical application. This article dicusses a number of the concepts the OIG sets forth in its guidance.
