The legislation is backed by Sens. Bob Rucho (R) and Harry Brown (R).
Under the bill, cost information for the top 50 most common procedures would be published on the North Carolina Health Information Exchange, which is the state’s public health information forum.
The bill would also prevent hospitals and outpatient surgery centers from charging patients twice for radiology services that were provided once, according to the report.
