Medical College of Wisconsin Receives $1M Neuropathic Pain Research Grant

Researches at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Wauwatosa have received a $1.1 million grant to study the use of genetically modified adult stem cells to treat neuropathic pain, according to a Wauwatosa Now report.

Quinn H. Hogan, MD, professor of anesthesiology and director of pain research, will serve as principal investigator for the four-year grant from the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. He will collaborate with assistant anesthesiology professor Hongwei Yu, MD.
