The device allows hospital patients to receive their medication when they need it while keeping pain levels under control. MOD is an FDA-approved patient-controlled oral medication delivery system for pain medication. Medication is delivered in the form of tablets or capsules, and the device lets the patient access single doses of pain medication at prescribed time intervals.

When the time comes for another dose of medication, the MOD alerts patients that medication is available. The MOD can deliver up to eight doses of medication at the patient’s bedside using RFID technology.
