An investigation by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control Bureau of Drug Control led to seven women being charged for allegedly obtaining controlled substances, such as hydrocodone, dextroamphetamine and phentermine.
The women allegedly obtained the prescription drugs by writing false prescriptions or calling the prescriptions into local pharmacies by using the names of physicians working at the cardiology clinic without their consent.
