According to the release, North Valley Surgery Center was founded by several community physicians and managed by Sovereign. The transaction was effective Dec. 31, 2009. NVSC will continue to operate as a separate company managed by Sovereign and will remain independent of Scottsdale Healthcare, according to the release.
In an effort to combine strengths and explore opportunities in outpatient surgery, Scottsdale Healthcare and Sovereign have created a new entity, Scottsdale Healthcare/Sovereign, which is now the majority owner of NVSC. This is the combined organizations first project, according to the release.
The Scottsdale Healthcare/Sovereign joint venture will allow Scottsdale Healthcare to explore partnerships with physicians and extend its brand of medical care in outpatient settings outside its three hospital campuses, Scottsdale Healthcare President & CEO Tom Sadvary said in the release.
“Scottsdale Healthcare is committed to working with leading physicians in the community. We believe that physicians and hospitals achieve the best outcomes when they operate as teams,” Mr. Sadvary said in the release.
