VHA Upper Midwest Consolidated Services Center is a regional supply network of VHA Upper Midwest member organizations with efforts focused on centralized sourcing and contracting by negotiations for better prices from vendors as a group.

Willmar Surgery Center, which is a joint venture between Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, Minn., and Affiliated Community Medical Center, has formed a group with Rice to discuss surgical services as they relate to supply issues and the distribution of materials, such as streamlining gloves.

“We’re looking at supplies. We’re looking at equipment. We’ll be looking at processes,” Chief Nursing Officer Wendy Ulferts at Rice Hospital said in the report. “We already have some good projects on the horizon.”
