Provista Acquires Summa Purchasing Group

Provista has announced it has acquired Summa Purchasing Group, according to a news release.

Summa, which is based out of North Texas, specializes in cost reduction for education institutions.

 

Upon completion of the acquisition, the combined company will serve nearly 16,000 school districts, early learning centers and colleges and universities.

 

“Our combined leadership and experience in the education and corporate sectors is strongly complementary and will help us to serve our customers better and achieve our strategic growth goals,” said Dan Thomas, president and CEO of Provista, in the release. “We are thrilled to formalize our long standing relationship with Summa. Under the leadership of Stephen Hull, president, and Michael Brion, senior vice president, Summa has become the leader in the education market.”

 

The leadership teams will be combined and will spend the next several months focused on integrating the two companies.
