Alan Silber, MD, was accused of billing Medicare for unnecessary treatments or treatments that were never rendered. Dr. Silber also allegedly offered his Medicare number to clinic owners Jose and Denisse Martinez so they could enroll the facility in the federal healthcare program, according to the report.
Medicare paid the clinic approximately $650,000 over a four-month span. The clinic has also been accused of recruiting Medicare beneficiaries to the clinic with $50 payments, according to the report.
Dr. Silber is due in federal court today.
