The hospital and orthopedic practice received CON approval for a four-procedure room surgery center in 2009.

The groups are expanding the number of procedure rooms as well as the acres of land they plan to purchase to develop the facility. Raleigh Orthopaedic said the changes were in response to the hiring of additional physicians by the center.
