The Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board approved certificates of need for all three facilities in Jan. 2009.

Construction on the $185 million project is on hold until St. Mary’s is able to lower operational costs and improve its bond rating. The hospital will be seeking $150 million in bonds for the project, according to the report.
