In a three-month survey of patients owning smartphones or tablets, the company found that more than 50 percent use mobile devices in physician waiting rooms, including for checking email (61 percent), texting (49 percent) and accessing the internet (47 percent).
Based on this data, researchers said that by providing waiting room Wi-Fi access that includes information about clinical trials, physicians can engage patients in a dialogue about trial opportunities.
