The hospital opened on Nov. 1, according to a Dec. 16 release from Nueterra Healthcare, which co-owns the hospital with Methodist Health System and the physicians. But a Nueterra official contacted afterward said the hospital was still awaiting Medicare certification. Chris Shoup, who is president of the facility, would not say anything more than that.
Methodist Hospital for Surgery covers otolaryngology, spine surgery and orthopedics.
The hospital has seven ORs, 32 inpatient rooms, an ICU unit, physician therapy and comprehensive diagnostic imaging services including CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound and bone density scanning.
