Physician Donates Eye Surgery Center to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center

Richard Preske, MD, an ophthalmologist in Mount Airy, N.C., donated his Northwest Eye Surgery Center in Mount Airy to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., according to a report by the Winston-Salem Journal.

Dr. Preske joined Wake Forest as a faculty member but will continue to treat patients out of the center, according to the report.

The center, which provides treatments for cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes-related eye problems and retinal tears, will change its name to Wake Forest University Northwest Eye Center.
