Personal Feedback Boosts Employee Hand Hygiene

Research from the University of College London shows personalized feedback to healthcare workers may boost their compliance to hand hygiene.

The study involved 60 wards at 16 hospitals. These hospitals implemented an intervention that coupled personalized feedback and action planning, which boosted hand hygiene compliance up to 18 percent in intensive therapy units and 13 percent in acute care of the elderly wards. Hospitals also saw a 30 percent increased use of hand soaps.
