Patient Dies Following Plastic Surgery Performed by Massachusetts Physician Not Certified in Plastics

A patient who underwent plastic surgery by a Massachusetts physician died the day after her surgery, according to a MetroWest Daily News report.

Results from the patient’s autopsy are still pending. Sanjeev Sharma, MD, owns Destination Beauty MedSpa in Framingham, Mass., and performed the breast enhancement surgery on the patient, even though he is not certified in plastic surgery. According to the report, Dr. Sharma has since released a statement expressing sorrow over the patient’s death.

No lawsuits have been filed against Dr. Sharma.
