Eric Huebscher, of NHB Advisors of New York, filed a report, claiming the hospital’s supply management and security operations were cause for concern and “will be more closely monitored during the next reporting period,” according to the news report.

The report includes complaints from hospital staff about supply shortages, which is a result of three recent vacancies in the purchasing/material management department. The report also cites the hospital for weak and inefficient maintenance of supplies, which could potentially impact healthcare quality. In some instances, Mr. Huebscher wrote, staff members from one unit stole supplies from another unit in order to deliver patient care.

Mr. Huebscher recommended the hospital take immediate steps to rectify the supply management concerns, including consolidating management positions and daily inventory maintenance to determine supply deficiencies, according to the news report.
