Twenty-five states with the most ASCs were featured on Newsweek's new annual ranking of surgery centers.

Emergency medicine specialists are largely the ones treating U.S. COVID-19 patients in person, according to a Medscape survey of 5,005 practicing physicians in the U.S.

Fifty-eight ASCs partnered with Deerfield, Ill.-based Surgical Care Affiliates made Newsweek's ranking of "America's Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers 2021."
