The National Quality Strategy, required under the Affordable Care Act, provides national guidelines for improving healthcare quality in the United States. Evidence-based results and input from leaders throughout healthcare helped develop the strategy.
The strategy outlines three main goals of the healthcare system: better care, healthy people and communities and affordable care. The strategy also offers several priorities to help reach these goals: reduce harm in care delivery, engage patient and patient’s family as partners in care, promote most effective prevention and treatment practices for cardiovascular disease, promote best practices for healthy living and develop and spread new healthcare delivery models.
